Ultima puntata dell’anno di Area Contaminata, la #61, la cui selezione è stata ispirata dal maestro Andrew Weatherall (RIP) e dal suo partner nelle serate A Love From Outer Space, Sean Johnston. Quest’ultimo, in maniera encomiabile, sta continuando a portare avanti il progetto ALFOS, con il formato EBS (Emergency Broadcast System), attraverso dei dj sets trasmessi live dalla sua abitazione londinese.

Area Contaminata meets Poptones - The Style Council and beyond 1982-1985

Prendendo spunto dalla compilation “Long Hot Summers” di recente uscita, oltre che dall’omonimo documentario mandato in onda in UK, Alberto Simoni e Gabriele Savioli uniscono le rispettive rubriche, Area Contaminata e Poptones, per rendere omaggio ad uno dei gruppi più iconici degli anni ’80: gli Style Council. Oltre a prendere in considerazione anche il cammino che portò i due fondatori Paul Weller e Mick Talbot ad unire le forze e fondare la band, la trasmissione amplia la panoramica su artisti che gravitavano intorno al mondo Style Council. In questa speciale occasione ci si sofferma sulla prima parte della carriera, nello specifico gli anni che vanno dal 1983 al 1985, lasciando aperta la possibilità in futuro di esaminare la fase finale dei nostri, in una possibile seconda e ultima puntata.
